Sue Scott, Head of Hair and Beauty at BCoT said the collaboration will enhance the learning experience for students and give them the foundations for successful careers in industry. She said: “We chose to work with VTCT because they are recognised in the industry as a leading force in hair and beauty qualifications. They provide an extensive choice to learners and continually raise the standards in the industry sectors we work with. In the coming year we have plans to offer our salon facilities to other colleges and training bodies, and we will also be launching our Level 4 programmes. These initiatives are fully supported by VTCT.”
As well as the new partnership, the Hair and Beauty Department at BCoT has also launched its refurbished Evolve Hair and Beauty salons, offering industry-standard facilities to teach and practice in.
The salons, which are open to the public, give students the opportunity to train and develop their skills to the highest professional levels, and are supervised by fully qualified members of staff.
Sue added: “The refurbished salons and beauty rooms add a new level of professionalism for our students to learn and develop their skills in. They are using the latest equipment and technology, and together with the VTCT qualifications, know that when they leave college they will be trained to the highest standard and fully work-ready.”
